Thank you for coming to find out more about “Kids Club” for the 2017/18 winter season. We hope you received your invitation through the door.
Kids Club has been running for over thirty years in the village.
Parents, Grandparents and friends may be able to look back and remember it being the Wednesday night “Children’s Meeting”. For years there was a mini-bus going around Crosshouse, Knockentiber & Gatehead bringing boys & girls to the Hall in Annandale Gardens.
While there’s no minibus nowadays (the carpark is much busier!) and children from Crosshouse and surrounding villages join together in the Kids Club from October to March each winter.
This season the Kids Club will be:
Each Thursday evening, from 6pm – 7pm
Children of nursery & school age will enjoy Kids Club the most. Family members and friends are welcome to stay throughout – you might enjoy it too! Where the kids will get prizes, grown-ups can have tea/coffee & biscuits.
There’s no charge for children to come along, and all prizes etc are free.

Kids club tends to follow the same format each week.
6.00 – 6.15 Choruses/Singing
In this section, children can choose their favourite choruses. There’s a great selection available, whether they like actions, singing loudly or nicely in tune – everyone is able to join in.
6.15 – 6.30 Memory Verse
Sadly the Bible is not as well known today as it may have been in previous generations. We’re always keen for boys and girls to learn what God says to us in His word, like…
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth…” Genesis chapter 1
“The Lord is my shepherd….” Psalm 23
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son…” John chapter 3
We learn short verse each week, then look to recite them at them either at a Christmas Service, or a Prize Giving Night at the end of the year.
6.30 – 6.45 Story Time
At this stage we’ll split in to 2 groups. Children pre-school (nursery) will be separated from those of school age and a story explained from the Bible. A bit like the memory verse – many of these stories are not well known today. Not only are they exciting, interesting and engaging, but because they are from the Bible, they’re all true!
Stories include:
· Noah & the ark
· Moses crossing the Red Sea
· David vs Goliath
· Daniel in the lion’s den
· Jesus & His Disciples
Stories are interactive and told using pictures, sounds and videos on the large projected screen.
6.45 – 7.00 Quiz/Craft/Game
The night concludes with prizes to be won! Each week the groups will participate in a quiz, perhaps make something in a craft session or play a game. Any questions will be based on what has just been told in the story; there’s never anything too competitive and everyone will always leave with something.
Each Kids Club is structured, well supervised and (we hope) fun!
Please get in touch using the Contact Us page if you have any questions about the Kids Club – we look forward to seeing you over this winter season each Thursday night at 6pm.
